Pedestrian Death In Ashland

ASHLAND, Ore. — A 90-year-old Ashland man is dead after being hit in a crosswalk. Police said it happened at the intersection of Water Street and North Main Street around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Ashland Police said 43-year-old Justin Tombe was turning onto Water Street at less than 10 miles an hour. Tombe said he did not see Anthony Kraft who was in the crosswalk.

Police said Kraft was knocked down to the ground and hit his head. 90-year-old Kraft was taken to the hospital but died this afternoon. The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.
