MEDFORD, Ore. — The Pear Blossom Festival is just three and a half weeks away, and all of the plans for the parade, street fair, and running events are being finalized. Today, the YMCA announced this year’s winner of the Pear Blossom Festival Mayor’s Cup fun run t-shirt design contest.
The winning design was submitted by Lauryn Squyres, a 6th grade student from Grace Christian School. Her design was chosen out of 1,000 submitted from 20 different schools. Lauryn has won new custom running shoes and a party at the YMCA.
There is still time to sign up for the Pear Blossom Run or the Mayor’s Cup Fun Run scheduled for Saturday, April 13, starting at 7:00am. The registration fees help provide scholarships for low-income youth and families
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and run through downtown, and the street fair is being relocated this year to the new Commons Parks near the intersection of Bartlett Street and Riverside.
