Medford, OR -- One person is dead after an accident in West Medford. The driver has been identified as 27 year old James Robert Kinler.

The accident happened just after 2 AM near the streets of Fourth and Oakdale.  Police have closed down parts of Fourth Street between Oakdale and Orange.  Authorities say the section of Fourth will be reopened soon.

The driver was seen by an officer driving wrecklessly through down town Medford, and shortly thereafter, police say Kinler missed a curve and crashed into a powerpole and the front yard of a home on Fourth Street. The impact of the crash sheered the car into two pieces and police say it killed the driver on impact.

Both Jackson County Sheriffs and Medford Police are now investigating the incident.
