MEDFORD, Ore. -- Veteran's Day is next Tuesday, and there are currently 152,000 soldiers in Iraq and 31,000 in Afghanistan.

On Thursday, six veterans visited Hedrick Middle School as part of the Take A Vet to School Day. Hedrick Middle School was the only school in Oregon to take part in the national event. Veterans answered questions and spoke about their time in the military.

"The freedoms and the things that we have to share here in the country, it's not free, there is a cost," says Veteran Jesse Grabowski.

About 770 students participated in today's event at Hedrick Middle School.
