MEDFORD, Ore. -- The 10th annual Black and White Casino Night to benefit the Children's Miracle Network takes places this Saturday, November 1st.
Money raised at event will be put towards the purchase of a brand new Computerized Information Center, also known as a CIC, for the Rogue Valley Medical Center's Pediatric Unit. The CIC allows nursing staff to monitor the vitals of each child in every room from the nurses station.
"In the past, the monitors would alarm and parents would tell us, or we would have to wander around trying to figure out where the alarm is from. This way we'll be able to look at the monitor and see what levels are alarming," says RVMC Clinical Manager for Children's Services Michele Strickland.
Casino Night is being held at the Lithia Motors Showroom on Highway 62. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Tickets are still available, and can be purchased at the door for 75 dollars a piece.
