ASHLAND, Ore. — A local mom-and pop shop is being recognized in a national business competition.
It’s the 63rd year for the Retail Excellence Awards, which selects stores from the gift industry based on four categories.
Paddington Station celebrated its 40th year anniversary last year and held several community events which earned them a spot in the running.
When the local store made it to the top 3 in the country, the owners were flown out to New York City.
“It was very exciting to be in New York City at this beautiful event, and to be rubbing elbows with the owners and presidents and CEO’s of all the large gift corporations, because that’s who sponsors the event,” said Paddington Station owner Pam Hammond.
The owner’s say the community events at Paddington Station will continue once every month.
