Packing Food for Roosevelt School

MEDFORD, Ore. – Members of the community came together to help the children of Roosevelt Elementary School.

Wednesday night, families, friends, and volunteers gathered at the Medford First Church of the Nazarene to pack bags of food for all 400 students of Roosevelt Elementary. People stuffed the bags full of canned foods, loaves of bread, cereal, and other items to give some holiday help for the students.

Organizers say Roosevelt has one of the highest number of students on free and reduced lunch in Medford; nearly 75 percent. They said providing the bags of food will be a huge help to those families over Christmas break.

The food bags will be handed out to families at Roosevelt Elementary on Friday.
