Pacific Power Warns of Scams

A warning to Pacific Power customers along the West Coast: the company is warning customers of scammers who are posing as company customers service agents or attorneys and offering phony bill credits.

The scam consists of customers being told that they are eligible for a utility bill credit through a new federal grant. Customers are then told they must provide their social security, credit card or check routing number.

Pacific Power says that there is no such federal program and if customers receive a call, they should hang-up and report the call to Pacific Power.
