Solar projects in Southern Oregon and Northern California are getting a boost from Pacific Power. The company, through its Blue Sky renewable energy program, is giving three projects more than half a million dollars.
One of the projects is a new awning over the Medford airport parking lot, also the first project in the Rogue Solar Initiative. They will get more than 170 thousand dollars.
Also receiving a boost is a solar array to be installed at the South Coast Food Share building in Coos Bay.
In Northern California, the 153-year-old newspaper Del Norte Triplicate will receive 60 thousand dollars for a solar installation.
