Pacifica Fire: Structural Threat Lessens

Williams Fire 1WILLIAMS, Ore. — Oregon State Fire Marshal says firefighters made excellent progress on the Pacifica Fire yesterday and early this morning, reducing the threat to residences and other structures.

This progress allowed the state fire marshal to demobilize the Lane County Strike Team yesterday evening. The remaining three strike teams from Linn, Lincoln, and Marion counties demobilized this morning.

Approximately 150 structures were threatened. Due to the efforts of the structural protection forces, only one home, six outbuildings, and one vehicle was lost.

Current estimated acreage burned remains at 500. The Oregon State Fire Marshal says this number is expected to change somewhat when more detailed mapping is conducted.
