More than 200 different kinds of wine will be filling glasses and goblets at the Southern Oregon World of Wine festival.
The wines, all made from Southern Oregon grapes, will be competing for the recognition of some of the country’s top wine experts, the festival of course includes plenty of tasting opportunities and several wine sensory classes for every level of wine aficionado…the event runs through Saturday with a grand finale from 6 to 9 p.m., which will include tastings of the medal winners, food and live music.
If paddling out into the great outdoors is more your style check out a brand new addition to Southern Oregon recreational line up. Howard Prairie Lake Resort is hosting the Northwest Outdoors Store’s Paddlefest.
Even if you never picked up a paddle you’ll have the opportunity this Saturday for all sorts of water activities…the Rogue Yacht Club will also be out on the lake Saturday for their final summer series race – so if you’re feeling like your sea legs won’t support you, you’ll still have plenty to see.
If you’re out for a cruise this weekend head to valley of the Rogue State Park at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Freebird Motorcycle Club invites everyone to then ride to Triple Tree Restaurant and lounge for the 6th annual Burnout at the Bar. The event costs 15 dollars and the money raised will provide Southern Oregon foster children with back to school supplies.
There is food, music, raffle, and burnouts – where motorcycle riders literally burn off their back tires, all in an effort to get foster kids back to school stocked with supplies. If you can’t make it for the ride, you’re more than welcome to show up at Triple Tree Restaurant at noon for the rest of the party.
