Exploring the beauty and complexity of the mind is the theme of the Third Friday Art Walk this week in downtown Medford.

Pick up an event map and explore galleries and other downtown venues. State of the art imagery of brain will be on display along with other activities in honor of national stroke awareness month. Challenge your brain with the Third Friday Poker Walk or let your mind dance at 6 p.m. with a flash mob in Vogel Plaza. The Third Friday Artwalk is Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.; pick up the event map at Vogel Plaza, Rogue Gallery and Art Du Jour.

On Saturday, it’s the Second Annual “Painting The Town With Hope” Wine and Music Event. Come to the on Saturday night from 5 to 9 p.m. to hear live music from the Teri Cote Band and Dead Sea Pedestrians. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets are fifteen dollars for adults, which includes a glass of wine. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

ScienceWorks in Ashland is celebrating this Sunday’s solar eclipse with an astro-blast weekend. The interactive museum is celebrating with a weekend full of astronomy-themed activities leading up to an eclipse-viewing party on Sunday. Scheduled activities include alien autopsy, building alka-seltzer rockets, and a peek through the sunspot telescope and much more. Visit the ScienceWorks website for a complete list of events.
