MEDFORD, Ore. — In this week’s Out and About: where you can experience ancient Chinese music and martial arts and how you can get that big Broadway feeling right here in Southern Oregon.
On Saturday night, the Craterian Theater in Medford presents Neil Berg’s “101 Years of Broadway, Song and Dance”. This year, this dynamic musical revue is bringing a new playlist of classic and contemporary Broadway showstoppers. For the first time, the show will feature a dance along with the power-packed vocals. “101 years of Broadway Song and Dance” is Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Craterian Box Office for ticket information.
Southern Oregon University’s Department of Performing Arts Music Program is ringing in the new year with an ancient Chinese music concert and kung-fu exhibit. More than 20 performers, aged 14 to 45, are included in the delegation from the Henan Museum and the Shaolin Temple.
They will present ancient forms of Chinese music and perform a musical play about the Chinese lantern festival. At intermission, members of the Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Team will demonstrate a variety of martial arts and ancient weapons. The program is Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in the SOU Recital Hall on Mountain Avenue. Admission is free.
This Saturday, it’s the 7th Annual and Fashion Show in the pavilion building at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fashion shows are at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Admission is $2.00.
