ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — The National Rooster Crow Championship is back in Rogue River this Saturday and Sunday.
The event starts Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with the “Fun Run and Walk” at the Rogue River Beck Field. The Rooster Crow parade is at 10 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Rogue River.
The event has activities fun for the whole family, including arts and crafts, a “Rooster’s Roundup” kids play area, and the 60th annual National Rooster Crow Contest and Human Crow Contest. The annual Rooster Crow Car Show will be held on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
SHADY COVE, Ore. — Shady Cove is also hosting its annual festival this weekend. The 13th annual Spam Festival is at the Jackson County Regional Park this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be events and games for all ages, including an open air vendors market, ODFW fish tank exhibit, and a kid carnival to name a few. There will be a rubber ducky race again this year and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department will have their equipment on display, with child ID and even DNA kits.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a youth activity program, the Special Olympics and the Shady Cove School.
TALENT, Ore. — If you’re looking for some mysterious entertainment this weekend, visit the Camelot Theatre Company in Talent, where Dr. Jekyll is on the loose.
Jekyll and Hyde follows the story of Dr. Jekyll whose experiments with the human personality ends up creating his savage counterpart, Edward Hyde.

MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Medford Rotary Club to present Parks Uncorked. The event will kick off Friday at 6 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Community Park. It’s a fundraiser to support the youth in the Rogue Valley.
