Oktoberfest is coming to Bigham Knoll and this year promises to be the biggest ever.
The 2013 Oktoberfest is expanding to three days this year to accommodate the demand for good German music, fantastic seasonal brews and traditional food fare.
The festival takes place on the Historic Bigham Knoll Campus in Jacksonville, home of the School House Brewhaus German Restaurant. The event runs Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday starts with the 2nd annual fun run at 8 a.m. with Oktoberfest activities throughout the day and Sunday from 11a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Organizers say it will be a night of heartwarming stories and musical reflections at the Craterian Theater at the Collier Center in Medford on Friday.
Starting at 7:30 p.m. there will be several concerts at the musical revue, featuring stars of Tarzan, the Music Man, and the Drowsy Chaperone.
Eight performers will sing about where they’ve been and where they hope to go after graduation. You can also enjoy songs from Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Matilda and Shrek.
Tickets are $12 a person, you can visit the venue’s website for more information.
Anyone in the market for unique antiques and collectibles can stop by a show and sale this weekend at the Medford Armory. Southern Oregon Antiques and Collectibles Club is holding its 31st annual event Saturday and Sunday.
Besides shopping at the event, you can bring in your antiques and see how old it is and how much it’s worth! Proceeds from the show will benefit various local organizations including the Jackson County Library System, the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary Library and Medford City Parks Swim Program.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $4 to get in.
