MEDFORD, Ore. — It’s an event that has become a Labor Day Weekend tradition. This Saturday and Sunday is the tenth annual “Taste of Harry and David” at the Harry and David Country Village in Medford.
Experience gourmet foods, award-winning wines, live music and a chance at some awesome prizes. The event includes the popular “Perfect Pairing Chef Challenge”, and new this year, the “Chopped Chef Challenge”. A donation of 5 non-perishable food items for access and gets $5.00 off your admission. The event runs Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
On Saturday, Stoneriver Vineyard in Talent is presenting its First Annual Vintage Market from 10am to 4pm followed by a sunset wine celebration from 5pm to 9pm with food, wine tasting, a live auction and a Chinese lantern send-off; all proceeds benefit Candlelighters For Children With Cancer.
If you’re heading over to the coast this weekend, you might want to make a stop in Brookings. The Port of Brookings Harbor is hosting the 2012 Slam n’ Salmon Ocean Derby. Anglers will compete for $15,000 in total prizes, but you won’t have to take to the sea to have a great time. The event also features a festival area, beer garden and kids activities. The Slam n’ Salmon Ocean Derby runs Friday through Sunday.
You can kick-off the college football season at an indoor tailgate party at the Klamath Falls VFW Hall. Watch the Beavers and the Ducks games while enjoying classic tailgate food and drink. It all starts Saturday at 11am.
