From wine to spam, this weekend’s events offer a little bit of something for everyone.
If you’re in Medford this weekend, head to the U.S. Cellular Fields for Parks Uncorked. The proceeds from this wine tasting day on the diamonds provide scholarships for youth participating in the city’s parks & recreation programs.
Tickets are $35 per person, or you can buy a table, and all your friends can enjoy the decadent wine tasting from local wineries, as well as beer samples, catered hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, games, and auctions.
It’s time to warm up your vocal cords and practice your cock-a-doddle-dooing. Rogue River started hosting its National Rooster Crow Championship in the 1950’s and the two day event is back this weekend.
Saturday morning features the fun run, followed by the parade, art in the plaza, food and vendor booths and the premiere event, both loud and full of laughter, as cows and humans give their best wake up call. The event continues on Saturday with the Rooster Crow Car Show.
Spam day celebrates everything about the pink canned product. People come from all over the country to the banks of the Rogue River to enjoy music, contest, a kid’s carnival and of course an all-you-can-eat array of spam delicacies, including spam kabobs, spamburgers and, new this year, The Spamtastic.
Of course, there are also other edible options for the less adventurous. It’s free to get in to the spam fest on Saturday which runs from 10:00 to 5:00.
In the Basin you can get behind the wheel of the Kruise of Klamath get in on the kickoff party Thursday. The event is spread across four different venues. The weekend long event wraps up Sunday with a breakfast and poker run.
