The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is welcoming the summer weather with a full season of outdoor entertainment.

The open air Elizabethan Theatre is offering up three of Shakespeare’s best, from the gritty battlefields of “Henry the 5th”, to the Victorian fantasy world of “As You Like It”, to the cornfields of Iowa in a whimsical adaptation, “The Merry Wives…of Windsor, Iowa.

The popular Green Shows are also now in full swing. Green show performances are free and take place on the OSF bricks.

Paragliders and spectators from around the world are flocking to Southern Oregon to catch some big air. It’s the 10th Annual USA 2012 National Rat Race Paragliding Competition at Woodrat Mountain near Ruch.

7 days of high-flying competition kicks off this weekend with practice flights on Saturday. Competition flights begin on Sunday. The patio at Fly High and Longsword Vineyard offers a view of the launch area and the landing field. Other wineries in the area also offer views, including valley view, fiasco and red lily.

Medford Beer Week is wrapping up on Saturday as the Southern Oregon Craft Brew Festival comes to Medford’s old-town area. 25 breweries and nearly 50 beers will be available for tasting.

Food vendors will also be on hand. Fourteen dollars gets a commemorative pint glass and five tasting tickets. Please note that this is a twenty-one and over event. Look for the craft brew festival on Bartlett Street and Middleford Alley in Medford. The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
