It’s going to be a busy weekend in Southern Oregon, from one of Oregon’s largest classic cars show to a day filled with making our community a better place.
Volunteers from across the community are expected to come out this weekend in hopes of improving Southern Oregon. The ‘I Heart Rogue Valley’ event takes place this Saturday. Throughout the day, volunteers will take part in various projects to serve their community. At the end of the day the ‘I Heart’ campaign will host a concert by the group Elliot and inspirational speaker Nick Vujicic at the Lithia Motors Amphitheater. The event is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item.
It’s “Back To The 50’s” in Grants Pass this weekend. Starting on Saturday the Classic Car Cruise will take place. This is the 22nd year of the event. Visitors will get the chance to see more than 500 classic vehicles cruise their way through downtown. It starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. Several road closures expected because of the event, so people are encouraged to utilize the parkway bridge and fourth street when heading to the car show.
It’s not happening this weekend, but next Wednesday country star Josh Gracin will be performing at the Bear Creek Amphitheater. You may know Gracin from the second season of American Idol where he got his first big break. The concert is free to the public.
