It’s a tribute to all American music and dance that is sure to get your toes tapping and there are some spooky goings-on in Southern Oregon.
“Song and Dance”
Oregon Cabaret Theatre, Ashland
At the Oregon Cabaret Theatre in Ashland, it’s a tribute to American show business.
“Song & Dance” takes a high energy musical journey from the vaudeville stage through the jazz era and beyond. Musical numbers are inspired by American icons of music and dance including Fanny Brice, Fred Astaire, Patsy Cline and Bob Fosse.
The show features two of the Cabaret’s favorite performers, Christopher George Patterson and Kymberli Colbourne. Get your tickets for the show alone or include a reservation for dinner prepared by the Cabaret’s chef. “Song and Dance” dinner shows runs Thursdays through Mondays through November 4 with Sunday brunch shows on Sunday afternoons.
Kid Time, Medford
Kids of all ages can experience an event unlike any ever seen before in Southern Oregon.
This weekend, Kid Time! and Wildlife Images are partnering to offer “Hawktober” fest. It will included a Harry Potter-themed wildlife creature exhibit with hawks, falcons, owls and other birds of prey and special creepy crawling and slithering friends, plus a costume contests and other Halloween activities.
The family party is from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
If a good scare is what you’re looking for there are several to choose from this weekend. Check out a zombie-infested maze of thrills and chills at the Nightmare Chamber Haunted House at Randall Theatre on 3rd and Front Street in Medford and there’s terror under the Bigtop in the “Circus of Screams” on Highway 62 near Eagle Point or spend a spooky evening at Darkwing Manor on Coleman Creek Road near Phoenix. Haunting times and ticket prices vary.
