OSU Looking to Rebound After 3-9 Year

Oregon St. began fall camp on Monday, on the heels of a 3-9 campaign in 2011. It was the worst season the Beavers have had under head coach Mike Riley. It was also just the second time Riley missed out on a bowl game in back-to-back years with OSU. Expectations are again pretty low for Riley’s group. Oregon St. was picked to finish last in the Pac-12 North in the Preseason Media Poll. However, those low expectations, and the embarrassment of last season, are providing plenty of motivation.

“Having a season like that, you don’t have no time for break, no time for games. It’s all work, no play. I have to get stronger, had to get faster and I was watching a lot of film,” said wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

“Everybody wants to do the best they can do every year. Now there’s added incentive. It just makes you hungry,” said Riley.

Oregon St. begins the 2012 season at home against Nicholls St. on September 1st.
