OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Heroin Arrests

NEAR ASHLAND, Ore. – OSP arrested two men last Friday after 30 pounds of heroin were found in their vehicle.

The van, displaying California plates, was originally pulled over for speeding. After further investigation during the traffic stop the trooper discovered the drugs in the car’s trunk, worth an estimated $600,000.

The two California men in the vehicle were identified as 26-year old Jose Esparza and passenger Armando Villasenor Jr., age 21. They were taken to the Jackson County Jail following charges of unlawful manufacture, possession and delivery of a controlled substance, being heroin.

OSP Drug Enforcement Section detectives are continuing the investigation.
