NEAR GLIDE, Ore. — Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Divisionis asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect(s) responsible for the unlawfully shooting and waste of a 5×5 bull elk found in the Thunder Mountain area southeast of Glide in Douglas County.
The investigating trooper believes the elk was killed in early February and a reward of up to $500 is offered by the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-in-Poacher program for information in this case.
OSP said the elk was found off Thunder Mountain Road about 3 miles east of Peel County Store in a recently logged clear cut owned by a logging company. OSP believes the bull elk was killed within the last 7 to 10 days.
