MEDFORD, Ore. — Oregon State Police are reporting two car accident related deaths and 31 DUII’s over the Super Bowl weekend this year. That’s down from the 38 DUII’s and 3 deaths reported last year.
For Josephine County there were six reported DUII arrests; in Jackson County there were four. Klamath County also had four.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Super Bowl has become one of the most dangerous days to be on the road, due to drunk driving. They say 48% of deaths nationwide are due to impaired driving on Super Bowl Sunday.

Beth,
That was in incredibly bad taste. Please remember this article is discussing the death of someone’s loved one, and the ridiculousness of people dying every year after consuming alcohol. And no, I don’t watch the Superbowl.
I am sure you didn’t mean your comment the way it appears, but do please – be sensitive.
Thanks very much.
Dan
