OSP Launches Internal Investigation

OSP CarSALEM, Ore. — Oregon State Police is launching an investigation into one of its own.

The head of the OSP office of professional standards has been placed on leave during an investigation of possible criminal conduct. Officials say 39 year-old Captain Jeff Lanz was placed on administrative leave at the end of April.

They have not specified the nature of the investigation, or the charges, but they do say that the findings of the case have been turned over to a senior deputy district attorney in Linn County.
