OSP Investigates Overnight Shooting

Bethanie_JonesWILDERVILLE, Ore. – Oregon state police detectives in Josephine County are investigating an assault in which a woman apparently shot her husband in front of their children.

Bethanie Jones of Wilderville is in the Josephine County Jail for allegedly shooting her husband, Darick Jones, in the leg during what state police spokespeople say was likely a domestic disturbance Saturday night.

Detectives say they don’t yet have a motive in this case, but there is no indication of premeditation.

Jones faces charges for Assault in the First Degree and four counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Her husband’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
