NEAR CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — Oregon State Police has released the name of man who died in a car crash early Monday morning. OSP are continuing to investigate the single vehicle traffic crash along Highway 199 near Cave Junction that resulted in the death of 28-year-old Brandon Gunder.
Police said at approximately 3:00 a.m., a 1990 Mitsubishi was heading northbound on Highway 199 near milepost 27 when it traveled off the highway and struck a tree. The vehicle’s three occupants were trapped inside the car and extricated by personnel from Illinois Valley Fire District.
Brandon Gunder was declared deceased at the scene. The driver, 45-year-old Austin Lawrence, was critically injured and transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital. Rear seat passenger identified as 26-year-old Clyde Greene was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
OSP troopers from the Grants Pass work site are continuing the investigation
