ASHLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has received a grant from the Paul G. Allen Foundation and now the iconic Elizabethan theater will be re-named the Allen Elizabethan Theater. The Allen family has been going to performances at OSF for more than 50 years and the executive director of OSF said there are currently no specific plans for using the funding.

“It’s a three million dollar grant from the foundation that is payable over multiple years and they really want to support the excellence of the work on stage,” said OSF executive director Cynthia Rider.

Only a handful of opportunities remain to see a performance at the Elizabethan theater as the final performances warp up this weekend.
