ASHLAND, Ore.– The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is getting a big upgrade.
A half-million dollar sound system is being installed at OSF’s Allen Elizabethan Theatre. The money was gifted from Ashland residents.
The director of production at OSF, Alys Holden, said guests were having a hard time hearing actors voices. This new system will enhance sound clarity and power.
“It’s a very big building. People need to hear the language in Shakespeare plays in particular and they just weren’t hearing it and this is our response to give them what they need and what we need.”
The new sound system will be up and running in early June. It is the first time OSF has had the opportunity to install an entire world-class sound system from the ground up in one of its theaters.
