Oregon Gulch Fire Tops 31,000 Acres

NEAR ASHLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Gulch Fire burning 15 miles east of Ashland is now consuming 31,918 acres. About 4,645 of that acreage is in California. The fire is 10% contained as of 10 p.m. Saturday.

There are a total of 1,041 people working on the fire.

Erratic, gusty winds on the Oregon Gulch Fire caused the fire to move east.
