OREGON — Oregon high school graduation rates remain virtually static, for the class of 2012.
According to the Oregon Department of Education, the four year graduation rate was 68.4% for last year. In 2011 it was 67.6%.
The drop out rate increased between the two years from 3.3% to 3.4%.
Governor John Kitzhaber calls the numbers “unacceptably low”, and in order for his goal of 100% graduation by 2025 the graduation rate needs to increase by 1.5% every year.
