MEDFORD, Ore. — Local law enforcement agencies are stepping up their enforcement and cracking down on drunk drivers.
Oregon State Police and other local agencies are taking part in what they’re calling National Holiday Lifesaver Weekend.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says more than 32,000 people were killed in crashes in 2011. 31% of those involved drunk drivers.
Last year, 37% of crashes in Oregon involved an impaired driver.
