Oregon DUII Enforcement This Weekend

Oregon State PoliceMEDFORD, Ore. — Local law enforcement agencies are stepping up their enforcement and cracking down on drunk drivers.

Oregon State Police and other local agencies are taking part in what they’re calling National Holiday Lifesaver Weekend.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says more than 32,000 people were killed in crashes in 2011. 31% of those involved drunk drivers.

Last year, 37% of crashes in Oregon involved an impaired driver.

    Impaired? Such as kids, dogs, cell phones, texting, eating, drowsey driving? I see drivers ALL THE TIME doing this crap…no “stings” for them…and NO I am not advocating impaired driving, just higher fines/money making opportunities for “impaired drivers.”
