CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Transportation is making winter weather preparations a few weeks earlier than usual.
ODOT officials say they usually don’t put carry chains signs up until November 1st, but this year cooler temperatures came early. ODOT officials say they are ready in the mountains and even plowed some snow near diamond lake this morning.
Officials want drivers to prepare for winter weather and make sure their cars are ready to go. Trucks that drop sand on slick roads are lined up at the ODOT Maintenance Center and officials say those can be equipped with a plow at a moments notice.
