MEDFORD, Ore. — Work being done along Interstate 5 in Medford will give a new look to the Bear Creek Greenway and help police patrol the area.
Oregon Department of Transportation workers have been clearing blackberry bushes and thick vegetation along the west side of I5 in Medford. Monday, crews continued their work near the McAndrews overpass.
ODOT said Medford Police requested some of the work be done to improve visibility and deter homeless camps. Police do sweeps along the Greenway several times a year to remove transients who may be setting up camps or committing crimes.
