MEDFORD, Ore. –The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is stocking local lakes and rivers with fish just in time for the nice fall weather.
ODFW said there are still plenty of fish to catch despite the low water levels and recent closures.
On Sunday, anglers were out along the Rogue River enjoying the nice weather, and taking advantage of the fall summer steel head run coming in behind the salmon.
“I haven’t caught any steel head, but i did hook up on a salmon, but broke him off so I wasn’t quite that lucky today, but we’re still out trying and see what we can get, “said angler Bob Tucker.
Several lakes and rivers in southern Oregon are being stocked mainly with trout. Howard prairie, Fish Lake, Hyatt Lake, and Lost Creek were all just recently stocked by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife with large legal trout.
Agate Lake, Lake Selmac, and the Expo Pond are all scheduled to be stocked by the end of next week.
