MEDFORD, Ore. — North Medford High School is commemorating the life of a late teacher and coach who had been part of the school for more than four decades.
Family, friends, and alumni gathered at the North Medford gymnasium Sunday afternoon to pay their respects to Tom Marier.
Marier began coaching and teaching at what was then just Medford High School in 1957. He later became a black tornado and continued to work there until 1999 — coaching baseball, basketball and football.
Really up until his final days he was still teaching some very valuable lessons. He left a pretty significant footprint in the community as a teacher and coach.
Marier died in November after more than a decade of battling dementia.
