No DUII Saturation for St. Patrick’s Day

MEDFORD, Ore. — Police officers in Southern Oregon say this weekend was business as usual for patrols.

For other holidays, like July 4th, drunk driver saturation patrols are common since its marked by celebrations involving alcohol.

Medford Police, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and Oregon State Police in the Central Point area say they didn’t add on any extra officers for St. Patrick’s Day DUII (Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants) patrols. Medford Police officers say they were still out looking for drunk drivers, like always.

Oregon State Police did saturate patrols in Portland for the holiday. Local Irish bar owners didn’t know what to expect for the holiday crowd, since it fell on the day before a normal workday for many people.
