A ridge of high pressure is currently sitting over the NW. By tomorrow this weather pattern will begin to shift eastward and a trough will shift winds to the SW. Winds will begin to pick up in the higher elevations and higher clouds will roll in through the second half of the day ahead of the next storm system. Overall, Mother’s Day is going to be beautiful, just hot, for all areas inland. Skies will be mostly cloudy along the Coast with temperatures in the upper 50′s and low 60′s.
The longwave trough that moves in Sunday afternoon will bring a cold front through the viewing area by Monday afternoon. This will bring light but widespread showers and cooler, more seasonable temperatures. We should cool down 10-15 degrees by Monday & Tuesday. The winds will pick up on the East Side and also along the ridges. Precipitation isn’t expected to be heavy, but we’ll take anything we can get as the rain is much needed!
Enjoy the weekend & Happy Mother’s Day moms!!!
