MEDFORD, Ore. — The Jackson County officials elected in November are now officially on the job.
Monday morning, four officials took the oath of office, including the county’s newest commissioner, Doug Breidenthal. He spent his first day on the job doing paperwork and touring his new office. After getting settled in, Bridenthal says he will be turning his attention to the county’s budget deficit.
Breidenthal replaces C.W. Smith, who held the seat for eight years. The new District Attorney, Beth Heckert, also took the oath of office this morning. She replaces Mark Huddleston, who served as the county’s D.A. for twenty years. The new county assessor and surveyor were also sworn in.
