GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Southern Oregon’s only state licensed, free-standing, birthing center, is celebrating the grand opening of its second location.
The new Grants Pass location of the Trillium Waterbirth Center will host a grand opening this weekend. Supporters say it will give Josephine County women a different choice than the hospital, but a safer choice than a home birth.
The State of Oregon defines a “free-standing birthing center” as a non-hospital-affiliated birthing center operated by midwives. The Trillium Waterbirth Center is Oregon’s eleventh licensed center.
