New Study Center for RCC Redwood Campus

Veteran's Resource Center

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Veteran students at Rogue Community College’s Redwood Campus have a new place study and do research.

Monday, a brand new Veteran’s Resource Center opened on the Redwood Campus and officials say RCC is now the second community college in Oregon to offer a VRC. The center will serve as a site for tutoring, mentoring and RCC Veterans Club events.

Materials, including some furniture, were donated by the Home Depot and organizers say the resource center will have a big impact.

“I think the biggest impact is for them to start to relax a little bit in getting back into the educational field,” comments RCC Veterans Advisor, Nikki Johnson. For them to come from an environment that they’re so used to and then being switched and coming into a new environment, I mean education isn’t easy.”

Officials say there are more than 15 hundred veterans who attend Rogue Community College.
