New Lawsuit Against Expansion Plan

MT. ASHLAND, Ore. — Several environmental groups are filing a new lawsuit, against the Mt. Ashland Ski Area expansion plan.

The groups, the Sierra Club, Oregon Wild, and the Center For Biological Diversity are saying the plan could have negative effects on the environment.

The expansion has been the subject of lawsuits and numerous appeals spanning nearly two decades. In August, a judge lifted a block on the plan. The Mt. Ashland Ski Association has not begun on-the-ground work yet.
