MEDFORD, Ore. — Apple fans around the world are breaking in their new iPhones. The newest pieces of technology from Apple have been flying off shelves.
Thousands lined up in cities all over the world, including in Southern Oregon. The lines started forming in Medford as early as 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Lance Hildebrand calls himself an Apple enthusiast, and that’s reason enough to line up at the AT&T store Thursday afternoon and wait through the overnight hours to get his hands on a brand new iPhone 5s.
He wasn’t alone: about two dozen people were lined up Friday morning, and they now have iPhones in their hands. Hildebrand chose the new gold iPhone.
This year, for the first time, Apple is selling two iPhones: the iPhone 5c, which comes in a variety of colors and is cheaper, and the iPhone 5s, which comes in gold, grey and white.
