New Information in Death Investigations

Yreka, Calif. —  New information has been released to Newswatch 12 about two of the three bodies found along Yreka Creek in the past eight months.

The second body found along Yreka Creek has been identified as a 62-year-old transient named Henry Cooper.   His body was found on July 9th. Police are calling this death a homicide.

This comes as Yreka Police officials release new autopsy information about the third body found along the same creek, several miles South.  Yreka Police say it has been determined that person died of natural causes.

Yreka Police say three bodies have been found along Yreka creek since Thanksgiving.  The first two are believed to be homicides involving transients.

I am sorry homeless people are being killed because they are people too. I used to be homeless.
