Today was the warmest day at the coast, for inland areas that day will be Wednesday with many locations likely tying or breaking records. Record highs for Montague, Medford and Klamath Falls are all within reach on Wednesday with mid-90s for west side valleys and mid-80s for the east side. The ridge will push slightly eastward Wednesday and the thermal trough that was centered over the coast Tuesday will be right over inland areas and thus the reason for the warmer temperatures inland, and the cool down at the coast. Onshore flow will return to the coastline by Wednesday night returning marine layer clouds and for many locations.
All areas will be cooler by the weekend with the cooling trend for inland areas beginning on Thursday, though it will only cool a few degrees and remain warm to hot. Friday will be about ten degrees cooler than Thursday and about another ten into Saturday. A weak front will bring isolated showers to the Cascades and west side by Saturday afternoon, with more widespread light showers Sunday.
Thanks for logging on and have a great evening!
