Names Released in Fatal Traffic Crash

081415.fatal.i5mp76.2NEAR WOLF CREEK, Ore. — Police have identified the Knife River employee who died near a work zone yesterday on Interstate 5.

60-year-old Kathleen Roberta Wilson from Trail was working on a paving project, when she stopped a pickup and arrow board trailer with overhead caution lights and emergency flashers activated. She was standing in the grass next to the guardrail on the opposite side of the freeway breaking down a portable sign.

Police say the semi sideswiped the trailer and pickup, which caused a portion of the trailer to go over the top of the guardrail and hit Wilson. She died at the scene.

The semi driver is cooperating with police, who say they will not comment on any possible charges until an investigation is completed and reviewed by the district attorney’s office.
