ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — Investigators are still scouring the property of Susan Monica near Wimer with no word on what they’re looking for or what they’ve found.
Susan Monica surprised everyone this week in court when she asked everyone in Rogue River to donate money to have her pigs butchered and have the meat donated to the Rogue River Community Center.
The director of the community center said they will not accept any meat, both because it needs to be USDA certified butchered, and because they don’t want to be a part of it. They have also said they have not received any money donations.
One woman, Melodee Badley, who owns animals along West Evans Creek Road said she’s had encounters with Susan Monica in the past. She said she’s had to step in after finding some of Monica’s animals dead or malnourished.
“The most neglected herd of sheep that she had there, it was really bothersome. To the point where I started feeding them myself,” said Badley
Monica is still in Jackson County Jail on two murder charges and two charges of abusing a corpse. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office still had trucks blocking the private drive that leads to Monica’s home along West Evans Creek Road.
Both the sheriff’s office and district attorney’s office would not give any comment on the investigation or what they have found, if anything.
