More People Seeking Shelter

MEDFORD, Ore. — The colder nights are drawing in more people seeking warmth at local shelters.

The executive director of the Medford Gospel Mission said nearly a dozen people came into the Medford Men’s Shelter on Tuesday night and two dozen showed up at the women’s shelter.

“There are some, they’ll pretty much tough it out and live out there, but if it gets real cold, they’ll go, ‘eh, i’ll like to stay where it’s a little warmer tonight,'” said Gospel Mission Executive Director, Bill Gourley.

During the winter nights, they open the shelter for anyone who wants to stay for a night and lay out extra beds.
