MEDFORD, Ore. — There could be a bigger number of seasonal jobs available this holiday season. Economists say nearly 40% of retailers will be beefing up holiday help, compared to 36% last year and 29% in 2011.
Harry and David plans on hiring 30 more people this year at their Medford location. They plan on hiring 640 people overall, and are in the middle of the hiring process right now.
Due to their significant growth over the past couple of years, they are also opening back up their Eugene call center, which will have 400 holiday employees.
“We have a lot of positions available this season, especially in order entry in customer service, sales and service people who both receive inbound calls and make outbound calls,” explained Pam Turay, the Senior VP of Human Resources at Harry and David. “We also have support positions in our business to business area that are taking orders from businesses and making sure they have exceptional service when they come in.”
Harry and David’s hiring process will continue through November.
