Today a weak cold front will bring light rain to the region and light snow above 3,000 feet, with gusty winds in the mountains and fairly breezy at the coast and basin today. Winds will calm briefly tonight as the system passes but will pick up again tomorrow as a stronger storm system approaches that will bring heavier precipitation on Thursday. Air quality should start to improve today but may not fall all the way back into the good for most areas, however the system on Thursday should bring enough precipitation to wash out the pollutants and return at least most areas back into the good level.
For today I think the mountain passes should not be lead to difficult travel, but conditions will deteriorate on Thursday with this stronger storm. Be sure to check road conditions before heading out and I’ll be posting road and weather reports on my Facebook. You can also find a link to DEQ’s website for air quality levels and tripcheck’s website for road conditions under the weather links.
Thanks for logging on and have a great Tuesday!
